New speculations claimed that iPhone 6S and iPhone 6S Plus release will take place in August to counter the Samsung Galaxy Note 5 and Galaxy S6 Edge Plus launch.

The Wall Street Journal reported that the next generation of iPhone, dubbed as iPhone 6S, will be unveiled later this year. Previous reports claimed that Apple will follow its previous patterned release date in September to announce its new generation of iPhone devices.

There are hints that iPhone 6S release will be coming soon as iPhone 6 discounts are emerging online. Best Buy recently marked the prices of iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus down as part of its Black Friday and Cyber Monday in July deals.

Meanwhile, Samsung have always used the IFA event in Berlin as its launching platform to announce its Samsung Galaxy Note phablet line, but Samsung announced in a post in Twitter that the new Galaxy smartphones are coming on Aug. 13. Samsung may try to get ahead of its biggest rival, but Apple may go for a head-on battle.

However, Apple has not confirmed whether iPhone 6S release date will be in August or in September.

On the other hand, Some of the purported features of the iPhone 6S are A9 processor, 4 GB of RAM, iOS 9 with software features such as Car Play, Apple Watch, HealthKit, and Apple Pay as well as improved Touch ID fingerprint sensor.

Moreover, the new iPhone will be available in more color options aside from the current silver, gold and space gray variants. Apple is reportedly mulling over the idea of a pink iPhone to appeal to female users.
