Only those devices which fall under the 18 months of standard life cycle criteria will be eligible to get the Android 5.1 Lollipop upgrade, according to IB Times.

On the other hand, Sony Xperia E4 and Xperia E4 Dual users are still in the dark whether the new Android 5.1 Lollipop update will be released for their devices or not. Sony has not released any information about the update for the Xperia E4 and Xperia E4 Dual users.

All the Xperia users with certified devices will get an alert when their devices are ready to be upgraded to the Android 5.1 Lollipop update.

This firmware upgrade aims to improve the Android 5.0 Lollipop implementations and enhance them. It will also increase the customization options like alerts, silent modes, and volume controls, according to Sony Mobile Blog.

The Android 5.1 Lollipop update will also improve the users experience related to their Wi-Fi settings, Bluetooth options and the wireless radios. The update will also have a new set of usability-enhanced Settings Menu icons as well.

For those who use the LinkedIn application, this upgrade will make the device more intuitive and synchronized in order to enhance the use of the application. After the upgrade, the camera will work faster with a more accurate Superior Auto Mode. The Xperia Business Feature will also be enhanced along with Smart Wear integration implementation.
