OnePlus 2's "excellent features, low price" strategy has earned it enough attention that tech fans compared it side by side Samsung Galaxy S6, and found similarities despite huge price variations. But Samsung is rumored to be unveiling Galaxy S6 Edge Plus on Aug. 13, bringing its flagship phone a step farther from such comparisons.

Under the hood, OnePlus uses a Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 Quad-Core processor, which is impressive, but Galaxy S6's Exynos 7420 octa-core is better, tech fans noted. Both run on Android, with OnePlus 2 using Android 5.1 bundled with a 4GB RAM. Galaxy S6, however, runs on Android 5.0 and has a lower RAM of 3GB, according to PC Mag.

In terms of camera specs, OnePlus 2 features a decent 13-megapixel rear shooter, which is an improved version of the OnePlus One's camera. In contrast, Galaxy S6's 16-megapixel camera is still superior. Both phones feature a 5-megapixel front camera.

Both smartphones feature a fingerprint scanner on the Home Button and a 4.1 LE Bluetooth support, while both lack a microSD card slot.

Features that OnePlus 2 lacks but are found in Galaxy S6 are wireless charging and Quick Charge 2.0. In contrast, OnePlus 2 features a Type-C USB port, which is not found in Galaxy S6.

When it comes to design, OnePlus 2 is probably more interesting with its magnesium alloy frame complemented by StyleSwap covers. Users may choose rosewood or Kevlar finishes for an "exotic" feel.

Their sizes also vary visibly with OnePlus sporting a 5.98 by 2.95 inch body that is 0.39 inch thick. It has a 5.5-inch 1080p resolution screen while Galaxy S6 is 5.65 by 2.78 by 0.27 inches with a 5.1-inch Super AMOLED HD screen.

Here is where Galaxy S6 Edge Plus comes in with a rumored 5.4 or 5.5-inch screen. Another feature leaked is the Snapdragon 808 processor, a deviation from the usual Exynos, according to PC Advisor.

Samsung already announced that an Unpacked event will be held in New York on Aug. 13, and tech fans anticipate that it will unveil the "big and curvy" Galaxy S6 Edge Plus.

OnePlus 2, with its flagship-worthy specs, sells at $389 for 64GB and $329 for 16GB while Samsung Galaxy S6 is priced at $684.99. The anticipated Galaxy S6 Edge Plus is expected to cost more, perhaps $1100, tech fans guessed.
