"Sons of Anarchy" star Chris Browning was recently added to the cast of "Supergirl" season 1.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Browning will play the role of the villainous character Reactron, also known as Ben Krull. The onscreen character will act as one of Superman's biggest enemies.
In the past, Krull and Superman have already gone up against each other, but the former has never been successful at defeating him. In "Supergirl," Krull will head to the National City to once again try to take him down by attempting to kill his cousin, Supergirl (Melissa Benoist).
As of late, Browning is still on a guest star status, but the publication noted that there is a huge chance that he his character could reappear several times throughout the season. There are also rumors that Krull's attempt at killing Supergirl will not materialize so he will be back once more.
Meanwhile, according to A.V. Club , several other new cast members have been confirmed to appear on the series. "Nurse Jackie" star Peter Facinelli will play the role of Maxwell Lord, Calista Flockhart will play the role of Cat Grant and more.
In other news, Benoist will star as one of the first female superheroes on television. According to executive producer Ali Adler, they decided to come up with a series about the character because her story needed to be told. Adler added that at the end of the day, the character's gender should not matter because she will just be as badass as her male counterparts.
"Supergirl" season 1 will premiere on CBS in the fall.
