The latest “Grey’s Anatomy” season 12 spoilers revealed that Ellen Pompeo, who plays Meredith Grey in the ABC series, is excited to be working with new "hunky" cast members following Patrick Dempsey's (Derek Shepherd) exit. Show creator Shonda Rhimes reportedly hired several new male cast members in an attempt to fill in McDreamy’s role.

"Grey's Anatomy" season 12 premiere episode titled "Sledgehammer" will reportedly show how Meredith tries to move on following Derek's death. It has long been rumored that a new character will be introduced as her new love interest in the coming episodes. The new doctor was said to make her forget the longing she feels after the death of her husband.

According to the Examiner, Pompeo is ecstatic to go back on set. She said that she is definitely looking forward to working with several new male cast members, whom she fondly calls her “brothers.”

Meanwhile, recent reports claim that Alex (Justin Chambers) and Jo's (Camilla Luddington) relationship will come to an end in season 12. In the season 11 finale, viewers saw the couple take a next step in their relationship by moving in together in a new house.

However, speaking to The Hollywood Reporter, Luddington speculated that something bad will happen to the couple. They may be in a good place in their relationship at the moment, but the actress believes that it's only a matter of time before things started to get ugly.

When asked if there is the possibility of marriage in Alex and Jo's future, Luddington said that she can definitely see that happening. However, she does not believe that they will be able to survive the pressures put on a married couple.
