It is rumored that Apple MacBook Air 2016's Magic Mouse and track pad will be getting a biometric update.

This will exponentially help the users to easily make their transactions using the feature of Apple Pay, according to a Taiwanese Apple Rumor Website. If rumors proved to be true, Apple will need to install a dedicated chip into the laptop for this exclusive function.

Analysts say that the idea of inclusion of the biometric update for the Magic Mouse and the trackpad implies that Apple is planning to open Apple Pay for web payments as well. Currently, it is only available for NFC transactions and in some iOS apps. Thus, Apple Pay would then provide competition to other players in the digital wallet space such as Amazon Payments and PayPal.

Apple MacBook Air 2016 is expected to be released in October at an introductory price of $899, making it the cheapest laptop from Apple.

It is also expected to sport a much sleeker design and a much greater resolution than any of the previous Apple laptops. It is expected to be available in two variants of the 13 inches and 11 inches. The 13-inch version may sport a screen resolution of 1440 x 900 and the 11-inch variant may be sporting a screen resolution of 1366 x 768. Both the variants are also expected to sport the IPS display and be really thin in size.

MacBook Air 2016 is speculated to be powered with Intel Core M based Sky Lake processors along with a RAM of 4 GB. It may have with 128 GB SSD for the mid- range model and 512 GB SSD for the higher end model.

It is also expected to sport a Retina display and a USB Type-C port. In addition, the laptop may be a fanless device which will come equipped with Mag Safe connectors, full sized USB ports, and one SD card slot, according to MacWorld.
