Action star Jackie Chan led the four Asian actors who made it to Forbes' Top 10 List of the world's highest paid actors, a milestone for the 61-year-old kung fu icon.

The feat was a breakthrough recognition for Asian actors, as it was the first time that the business magazine included names outside the U.S. movie industry.

Chan, whose pay reached $50 million, was the richest actor in the region and the second richest in the globe.

The iconic Hong Kong actor was known for his versatility and his dangerous stunts, which he himself executes. Some of his films that reaped success internationally are "Rush Hour" and "Dragon Blade."

Chan entered the entertainment industry at five years old. He used to do stuntman stint for the equally legendary martial artist Bruce Lee. This particular experience gave him the advantage to hone his name as a comedic kung fu star.

Apart from his on-cam roles, he also co-owns film entities, such as JC Group China, JCE Movies Limited, Jackie & Wille Productions and Jackie & JJ Productions.

Meanwhile, Amitabh Bachchan grabbed the title of being the second richest Asian actor. With his $33.5 million pay, he is Forbes' seventh highest paid actor in the world.

In Bachchan's five-decade-long career, the seasoned Bollywood leading man has already starred in over 180 film titles. His Hollywood debut in 2013 was his portrayal of Meyer Wolfsheim, a non-Indian Jewish character in "The Great Gatsby."

Third of the four Asian actors is Bollywood bad boy Salman Khan. His breakout role in the 1989 film "Maine Pyar Kiya" propelled him to stardom and gave him about 80 movie projects.

Khan, who is valued at nearly $33.5 million, occupies the eighth spot in the prestigious Forbes list.

A notch below him in the list is Asia's fourth richest actor, Akshay Kumar. According to the magazine, the Bollywood superstar averages four films a year.

His over-two-decade career involves him starring the hit movies "Khiladi" and "Dare 2 Dance."
