Grammy award winner Mariah Carey earned herself a prestigious star and became officially a part of the Hollywood Walk of Fame on Aug. 5.
The 45-year-old singer was the 2,556th icon who received the significant recognition in the world of entertainment. Carey followed another renowned performer Kristen Chenoweth who also received her own star on July 24, Variety reported.
The venue of the "Hero" singer's star unveiling was held at the façade of the W Hotel where her fans were also found crowding up the surrounding streets. The special ceremony was attended by big time music producer L.A. Reid, Stephen Hill of BET, and Brett Ratner.
Ratner was the director of Carey's nine music videos. Another celebrated director, Lee Daniels, was also present in the event who teased the fans about a forthcoming TV project of the Nick Cannon's wife.
The American songstress arrived in an elegant black dress together with her sweet toddler twins. Carey's overwhelmed emotions were undeniably expressed, even considering the moment as one of her dreams in life coming true. Her twins took the spotlight as both were heard shouting how much they love their singer mom.
The rendering of Carey's Hollywood star was followed by a congratulatory lunch which was accommodated by one of her best pals Jeff Beacher. The "One Sweet Day" singer was greeted with a beautiful bouquet of pink roses.
The 40-minute long event was complemented with a sumptuous menu catered by the Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel which comprised of chicken, kale salad and steak among others, Billboard stated.
It was in the 90s when Carey had her big break in the music business. The singer who is also seen in several other projects as a sporadic actress had all her hits soaring high in various music charts, throughout the entirety of her career.
Carey even got herself a Guinness Book of World Records spot for the title of "songbird supreme."
