August 7 will always be memorable for Naruto fans as it marks the day the legend that is Naruto passes his torch to the budding leaf of Konoha, the prodigious son of the 7th Hokage, Boruto Uzumaki.
But before we move on into the next era in Masashi Kishimoto-created Shinobi world, let us relish the moment our favorite ninja hero officially became the Hokage of the Dancing Leaf Village as narrated in a special one-shot manga entitled "Naruto Hokage."
Like what I said, the one-shot manga, which is reportedly being given to movie-goers in the premier night of the Boruto: Naruto the Movie in Japan, gives readers an account of events on the on the day Naruto was introduced to the citizens of Konoha as their new Hokage.
While it's quite hard to understand the dialogues (unless you are Japanese), here's what I learned by simply scanning through that raw manga release.
- Himawari, the second child and only daughter of Naruto and Hinata, activates her Byakugan for the first time. It was previously unknown how Byakugan users were able to activate their Dojutsu or they already gained it the day they were born, but the manga showed it can be awakened by anger.
- After seeing his stuffed toy's head ripped apart by his brother Boruto, Himawari got really mad to the point of awakening her Byakugan. However, her rage clouded her mind so much she didn't realize she hit her father (who is trying to save Boruto from harm), knocking the new Hokage unconscious after absorbing one single blow in his chakra point.
- As a result of his daughter's gentle fight assault, Naruto was a no-show in his induction ceremony, though his shadow clone saved the day by serving as proxy in the event.
Of course, more information is expected to be revealed once the English version of the manga is posted online. But hat-tip to this user on Gyozo, we now know the other side of Himawari's cuteness.
