Nina Dobrev recently opened up about filming her last episode for "The Vampire Diaries." In the season 6 finale, fans saw her character Elena lying in a casket. Damon (Ian Somerhalder) may have killed Kai but it was not enough to break the spell.
In an interview with TV Insider, Dobrev shared that she had a hard time saying goodbye to everyone. She revealed that she and Candice Accola (Caroline) shed a lot of tears both on and off-screen.
Dobrev said that they could not keep their focus on filming their last episode together because they kept getting sentimental. She held that they would laugh while sharing the fun times they had in the last six years, but then started crying when they realized that they would no longer see each other on a daily basis.
On her last day, the actress shared that Somerhalder, along with other cast and crew of "The Vampire Diaries" pulled a major prank on her. Speaking to People, Dobrev shared that during her last scene, the camera operator made her believe that there is something on her hair, then he grabbed her so she could not move. The next thing she knew, the entire crew came out and dumped a kiddie pool of whipped cream and cake to her head.
The actress shared that although leaving "TVD" has been a bittersweet experience, she is comforted with the fact that she made several friends in The CW series. She hoped that she would eventually work with such talented people again in the future.
