"Allegiant" star Shailene Woodley loves to reprise her role as Tris Prior. The actress also revealed that she gets inspiration from strong women.
In an interview with TV3, Woodley revealed that she did not watch a lot of Hollywood movies growing up so she did not find inspiration from actors and actresses. Rather, Woodley said that she was inspired by real women, most specifically Native American women.
Woodley also gave Pocahontas as one of her examples for women who have inspired not only her people, but thousands of other women across the world. Woodley added that Amelia Earhart is one of those other interesting women she has looked upon as her inspiration.
Meanwhile, Woodley also talked about her character Tris Prior and said that she is happy that she, too, gets to inspire other women and represent her gender. According to her, she is happy to be able to represent even a small fraction of the entire world.
In other news, Woodley spoke to Hypable about Tris' capabilities and skills. According to the "Divergent" star, Tris is the type of woman who faces adversities head on. Tris is also the type of woman who does not worry too much about discomfort, as long as she knows she is doing what needs to be done.
Woodley will be joined by her "Divergent" and "Insurgent" co-stars in "Allegiant" parts 1 and 2, namely, Ansel Elgort, Miles Teller, Zoe Kravitz and more.
"Allegiant - Part 1" is slated to hit theaters in the United States on Mar. 18, 2016.
