"Divergent: Allegiant" star Theo James revealed what it was like working opposite Shailene Woodley in the highly successful Veronica Roth movie adaptation. Director Neil Burger shared that he specifically chose James to play Four because of his strong personality.
In an interview with Flickering Myth, James said that he had a lot of fun filming the "Divergent" franchise with his co-actors. He said that since they were able to spend a lot of time getting to know each other, the working environment has become more relaxed. He, however, was quick to add that they did not become lazy. In contrary, he held that they kept each other on their toes.
When asked about his working relationship with co-star Woodley, James said that it was "great" being around her. He shared that they have started to become closer and developed a deeper friendship after doing a couple of films together.
The actor also revealed that the upcoming movie "Divergent: Allegiant" is going to be more mature than the other movies they have done. He said that they are also targeting the more sophisticated adult audience. It has long been rumored that there will be sexier and more intimate scenes between him and Woodley in the film.
In an interview with Hero Complex, Burger said that they specifically chose James to play Four as his attitude complements Woodley. He said that they needed an actor who is not afraid of her strong personality. Burger said that they found what they were looking for in James, adding that the actress was even a little intimidated by him in the first movie.
