'Winds of Winter' Update: George R.R. Martin Planning Bittersweet Ending; New Female Character Introduced

“The Winds of Winter” is the sixth installment of the of “A Song of Ice and Fire,” the basis of HBO’s popular series “Game of Thrones.”

"Game of Thrones" author George R. R. Martin said that he is planning a bittersweet ending for his book series. He also added that he has introduced a new female character in "The Winds of Winter."

In an interview with Observer, Martin revealed that he still has not thought about the ending for his book series. He added that he is inspired by the "Lord of the Rings" trilogy and his book series could also have a similar bittersweet ending.

"The Winds of Winter" is the fifth book in the series and there are reports that Martin is planning two more books before he ends the series. The TV series "Game of Thrones" is also speculated to go up to the eight season, much to the delight of the fans.

Regarding "The Winds of Winter" he revealed that he has introduced a new female character in the book. He refused to divulge more details about the new character but he did add that he is thinking about how to kill her off, according to Winter is Coming.

There are speculations that Martin has finished "The Winds of Winter" and it is in the printing stage. He had revealed in the past that he wants to finish the book before "Game of Thrones" Season 6 premieres.

Fans are also anxious to know about the fate of Jon Snow. He was stabbed mercilessly in the last season but his death was not confirmed. Fans are hoping that somehow Snow will survive in the next season.
