The Samsung Galaxy Note 5 has been announced with an expensive price tag of around $900, but there are some alternatives that not only come with cheaper pricing but also competitive specs similar to the Note 5.
The lack of expandable storage and non-removable battery are two major drawbacks of the Note 5. Since it is a business focused smartphone, it carriers a hefty off-contract price of $915 on AT&T for the 64 GB model. Here are three good alternatives that can be purchased at half the price of the Galaxy Note 5:
OnePlus 2
The OnePlus 2 is available for $329 for the 16 GB model and $389 for the 64 GB model, GSM Arena reported. It is a phablet device with 5.5 inches with full HD resolution. It is powered with Snapdragon 810 chipset supported by 4 GB of RAM.
It comes with a 13 MP rear shooter that is enabled with laser autofocus, OIS and dual-LED flash. The front houses a selfie snapper of 5 MP. It comes with USB Type-C connector, a fingerprint sensor and a huge battery of non-removable 3,300 mAh capacity.
Moto X Style (Moto X Pure Edition)
The Moto X Style has a water-resistant chassis. It comes with 5.7-inch Quad HD display and is powered with Snapdragon 808 chip and 4 GB of RAM. It supports 128 GB of microSD on its external storage.
It is available in three internal storage variants of 16 GB, 32, and 64 GB. It comes preinstalled with Android 5.1.1 Lollipop. It features a LED flash for its 5 MP selfie camera, Phone Arena reported.
The rear houses 21 MP camera with LED flash and is powered with non-removable 3,000 mAh battery. It will be launched as Moto X Pure Edition in the United States with a starting price of $399.
LG G4
The LG G4 is also powered by Snapdragon 808 chip and features a Quad HD 5.5-inch screen. It is features 3 GB of RAM and it comes in a single internal storage variant of 32 GB. The external storage supports up to 128 GB of microSD.
It has a premium leather back finish on its rear. Some of the other features of the handset include Android 5.1 Lollipop OS, 16MP OIS camera, 8 MP front-facing camera and a removable battery of 3,000 mAh. The off-contract price of the device is around $600.
