‘Uncharted 4’ Release Date Possibly Outed By Amazon, Character Leveling Discussed

"Uncharted 4: The Nathan Drake Collection" will feature a number of unlockable skills and a new hardcore setting.

The newest finding comes from a Reddit thread started by Reddit user ChrisNolanEnthusiast, who reportedly received a mail from Amazon telling him of the release date for "Uncharted 4." The screenshot, seen in the link above, shows the date, though the Redditor did state that other release dates outside of Germany is still possible.

Other reports have considered this to be a placeholder date instead of the actual release date, Gamepur reported. This was in reference to how the Amazon listing for "Uncharted 4" also lists the date via the official website. Considering that "Uncharted 4" is supposed to launch by spring of 2016, the actual month revealed may not be far off.

As far as the game is concerned, long-time fans of the series may be happy to know that character leveling will not be part of the game's mechanic. Progression system will not be included in "Uncharted 4" despite the fact that there have been several changes for the title, Segment Next reported.

The developer had good reason for keeping any character leveling system away from "Uncharted 4." According to Naughty Dog, "Uncharted 4" is a game that relies on a fast-paced environment when moving forward with the story. Any action and subsequent decision that protagonist Nathan Drake will do, it will be done in the context of what the hero feels would be the best for the current situation.

This may be one way by which Naughty Dog is aiming to stay true to the very essence of what makes "Uncharted 4" a part of the successful series. One promise that the developer had made is that "Uncharted 4" may have changed in terms of its development team and the kind of seamless graphic intensity, but deep down, the kind of gaming experience that it will deliver will have the same intensity as its predecessors.

"Uncharted 4: A Thief's End" will be a PS4 exclusive title. Sony's official announcement for its release date is an unspecified March 2016.
