"Dance Moms” star Maddie Ziegler lost to Chloe Lukasiak at the 2015 Teen Choice Awards for Choice Dancer. Her mother Christi thanked everyone who voted for her daughter and said that she could not have won the award without her help.

In Lukasiak' acceptance speech, the dancer echoed her mom's statement and said that her fans "mean the world" to her. She also encouraged young girls to pursue their passion and keep on doing what they love. She added that they should not listen to anybody who would tell them that they are not good enough.

"Ignore it. Do it anyways and prove them wrong," she said.

In a recent interview with Viva Glam magazine, the "Dance Moms" alum revealed that she was not threatened of Ziegler. She shared that since they have always been pitted against each other in the Lifetime series, it did not come as a surprise to her that they were both nominated under the same category. Lukasiak added that she would always be proud of Ziegler's accomplishments.

The 14-year-old dancer also recounted the first time she heard about being nominated at the 2015 Teen Choice Awards. She revealed that her mom woke her up in the middle of the night to tell her the good news. She said that Christi could not contain her excitement and woke her up screaming. Lukasiak was then busy going on tours and meeting fans in Australia.

When she found out about the nominations, Lukasiak shared that she did not feel the pressure to win. She shared that being in numerous competitions helped her keep her emotions in check.
