Donnie Yen entertains questions from the press during a Hublot event in Singapore.

When Donnie Yen faced the press during a public event in Singapore on Aug. 15, to which he was a guest of honor, two questions made a mark: one regarding his reported role in “Rogue One: A Star Wars Story,” and the other about having the ability to control time.

The 52-year-old Guangzhou-born martial artist answered the “Star Wars”-related question like any secretive, tight-lipped movie star: “No comment.”

Yen said that he would let the film outfit provide “an official statement,” Toggle reported.

As for the second question, which Yen referred to as a “big question,” he became a bit personal and answered like a true-blue doting husband and parent.

One female reporter asked the “Ip Man” star in English, “If you have the ability to control time, what will you do with it?”

Yen replied in the same language, saying that he would “prolong those beautiful moments” with his family.

He is referring to his second wife Cecilia “Cissy” Wang, Miss Chinese Toronto 2000, and their children Jasmine, 11, and James, 8.

He and his wife, who celebrated their 10th wedding anniversary in Aug. 2013, were in Singapore to attend the opening of a Hublot store.

According to Hublot’s official website, the luxury watchmaker invited Yen to officiate the opening of their 1,050-square-meter pop-up store in the Lion City, their largest one in the world.

Hublot also invited Singaporean actor Tay Ping Hui (“Bountiful Blessings,” “Unriddle 2”) to grace the high-profile event.

Tay currently stars in MediaCorp Channel 5’s drama, “Tanglin,” which premiered on June 30, and he was cast in the upcoming MediaCorp Channel 8’s drama, “Crescendo,” to air from Oct. 22 to Dec. 2.

The 44-year-old Economics and Political Science graduate, who has won more than a dozen awards in an acting career that started in 1998, tried his hand at directing via the basketball-themed drama “Meeting the Giant” released in June 2014 in Singapore and debuted in China in Aug. 2014.

MediaCorp Channel 5 is a 24-hour English TV channel in Singapore. Channel 8 is its Mandarin channel.
