With the recent D23 Expo footage revealing Captain America's team in Joe Russo and Anthony Russo's upcoming "Captain America: Civil War," there were speculations on Ant-Man's role in the film.
Ant-Man is comparable to a soldier with the size of an insect. According to Cinema Blend, the iconic size-changing superhero can be an extraction instrument in the Russos' "Captain America: Civil War." With his superhero capabilities, Ant-Man is capable of acquiring various things for Captain America's team.
The post-credit scene of Peyton Reed's "Ant-Man" showed Captain America and Falcon, along with Bucky, who is locked in a damp basement. Falcon told Captain America that he knew someone, pertaining to Ant-Man. The situation implies that Ant-Man is the key to reunite Captain America and Bucky, which makes him a potential addition to the team of the patriotic superhero.
The D23 expo footage unfolds with Captain America, Falcon, and Black Widow chasing Crossbones, which results to an accident involving the loss of many lives. The incident leads to the release of the superhero registration act or the "accords," which obliges superheroes to reveal their identities to the government and the nation.
Based from the footage, Ant-Man is assumed to be part of Captain America's team, which includes Black Widow, Falcon, and Scarlet Witch, while Iron Man's team will take in Hawkeye, Vision, War Machine, and Spider-Man.
Filming is currently ongoing in Germany and it is set to conclude in one week for editing, as per The Daily Beast.
Directed by the Russos, "Captain America: Civil War" is set to hit theaters in the United States on May 6, 2016.
