Actor Mark Wahlberg Reveals Why He Did Not Want To Appear On Family Reality Show 'Wahlburgers'

Actor and producer Mark Wahlberg has recently revealed his reasons for initially being reluctant to appear on his family's reality show "Wahlburgers."

The actor told The Hollywood Reporter that he is tired of being seen on TV and did not want to be a part of the highly acclaimed reality show.

The star said the idea of being "Mark Wahlberg" or rather himself for TV was not something that appeals to him. He said what convinced him to go ahead with the show however, was the fact that it involved developing and promoting the family restaurant business.

The actor also revealed that the reality show has also managed to bring his family closer together as it involves working with each other more often to do shoots.

The star of "The Gambler" has been frequenting episodes on the A&E reality show which focuses on the operations and the ups and downs of running a burger business that is run by the actor's brother and Chef Paul Wahlberg.

The actor is also a producer for the reality show which features his older sibling Donnie Walhberg, 45 and mother Alma.

According to the Daily Mail the star of "Ted" has said filming for the reality show has been flexible with shoots being done on location in Louisiana where he is currently shooting for the film "Deep Horizon."

Despite his numerous appearances on "Wahlburgers" the actor says it has never been the intention to push his personality on the show, however he admitted when it comes to promoting the business he is willing to put in the hours for the shoots.

In terms of the impact of the show on his family actor Wahlberg said they run close to 70 restaurants with different franchises. Another 10 restaurants are set to open in Boston and New York this year while the family has also signed a deal for 20 restaurants to open in the Middle East as well.
