Microsoft Surface Pro 4 will be released on Oct. 4.

It seems that Microsoft Surface Pro 4 Mini release is dropped completely by the tech company and will be replaced by Xbox One Mini launch instead.

Chinese blog WPDang provided details on the upcoming tech event of Microsoft in October. According to the website, the company will boast a wide array of head turning devices at the event, including the Surface Pro 4, Lumia 950, Lumia 950 XL, Band 2, and Xbox One Mini.

The Xbox One Mini is reportedly one third of the size of the full-fledged Xbox One console. The miniature version will be digital-only console and will leave out the disc drive.

There is no concrete information as to what the device will look like. However, if Microsoft is gunning for PlayStation Portable, the Xbox One Mini may be a handheld device.

Meanwhile, previous rumors claimed that Microsoft will release a miniature version of its popular Surface Pro line. According to IT Pro, the 12-inch Surface Pro 4 tablet will have a miniature version. While the size of the screen is not specified, some of the purported specs and features were revealed. The display will most likely be a quad HD display. The report stated that the Surface Pro Mini will be powered by Intel Atom 64-bit chip or a Core M processor. This will deliver twice the graphic performance of previous Atom chips.

There is also a chance that the miniature tablets will be powered by Broadwell or Skylake chipsets. The latter is reported to arrive later this year.

The latest rumor suggests that Microsoft will not push through the idea. However, Microsoft has confirmed none of the aforementioned rumors.
