After Microsoft Surface Pro 4 went missing in action in the official Windows 10 roll out on July 29, speculations claimed that the device will be launched in October battling head on with MacBook Air 2016.
The 12-inch Surface Pro 3 will surely have a successor. Some of the purported features of the Microsoft Surface Pro 4 are: 12-inch screen display with 2K pixel resolution, Intel Skylake processor, stylus, and USB Type-C port. Other rumored features are keyboard accessory, Type Cover 3 and Docking Station. Other purported features of the tablet are 16GB RAM and up to 1TB internal storage.
IT Pro reported that Microsoft Surface Pro 4 will be released alongside a Surface Mini. The screen size of the miniature tablet remained undisclosed. However, based on the market, it will be around 8 inches.
Recent rumors claimed that Microsoft Surface Pro 4 release will be in October, while some reports stated that the new generation of laplet will be announced next year. However, Microsoft has not revealed the official specs and features of the device until now.
Meanwhile, MacBook Air 2016 is reported to be released in October. If this rumor proves to be true, the two devices will battle head on. Some of the rumored features of the MacBook Air and MacBook Pro 2016 are Intel's Broadwell or Skylake processor and OS X El Capitan. MacBook has been using Intel chipset for long. Earlier this year, MacBook did not update the Haswell processor of MacBook, making it a candidate for a processor update.
However, Apple has not made an official announcement yet.
