Megan Fox Seeks Divorce From Brian Austin Green Over Irreconcilable Differences

Megan Fox and Brian Austin Green started dating in 2004 and got married in 2010.

Actress Megan Fox ended five years of marriage to actor Brian Austin Green by filing on Friday for divorce. Her filing with the Los Angeles Superior Court confirms speculations earlier this week that the couple has separated.

Fox, 29, starred in "Transformers" in 2007 and the 2009 sequel. In between, men's magazine FHM named her in 2008 as the sexiest woman in the world. She met Green, who was part of the 1990s TV show "Beverly Hills 90210" when she was just 18 and he was 30. The pair were married in 2010 and have two children, reports Reuters.

Megan sought joint physical and legal custody of their two kids, 2-year-old Noah and infant Bodhi. She cited irreconcilable differences as her reason for seeking the divorce, reports People.

Someone close to the couple told People that Megan and Brian's divorce is what commonly happens to celebrity couple who are at different stages of life and career during their 11-year union. The source explains that Megan has career as her focus, while Brian is asking more of her time for their relationship and family.

The couple finds it difficult to balance work with their personal lives as Megan became overwhelmed by the arrival of children and Brian's expectations. The situation led to many disagreements and arguments when she was at home that led to more problems between the two.

The source explains, "Megan has always been career-oriented and noted because she was so beautiful ... Now she is being recognized for her talent, and like anyone else with Hollywood ambitions, she wants to pursue those options. The timing just wasn't working for her relationship."
