Alycia Debnam-Carey plays Alicia Clark in “Fear The Walking Dead” and Lexa in “The 100.”

Fans are hungry for "Fear The Walking Dead" spoilers considering that no "The Walking Dead" cast members are starring in the spin-off.

The only thing "Fear The Walking Dead" and "The Walking Dead" have in common is a world filled with zombies and a zombie-creating virus that coerces everyone to abide by the same rules, Forbes pointed out.

"Fear The Walking Dead" stars Alycia Debnam-Carey, Kim Dickens, Ruben Blades, Mercedes Mason, Cliff Curtis, Frank Dilane, Colman Domingo, Lorenzo James Henrie, Elizabeth Rodriguez, Toni French, Patricia Reyes Spindola and Sandrine Holt, among others.

Before "Fear The Walking Dead" season 1 episode 1 aired on Aug. 23, Sunday, on AMC, showrunner Dave Erickson recently talked about the inevitable comparison between "The Walking Dead" and the new AMC series.

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Erickson said "Fear The Walking Dead" will continue to receive much attention but it cannot be compared with "The Walking Dead" because they are different in tone, in character and location.

What Erickson hopes is that "the bulk of the fans who have flocked to 'The Walking Dead' will also appreciate" "Fear The Walking Dead." He also expects that they will "come out of the gate strong and then hopefully people will recognize that there are differences."

Also, Erickson revealed why the new AMC series is titled "Fear The Walking Dead." He said it was necessary to have "Walking Dead" in the title and they internally had a long conversation about which way to go.

For Erickson, it was important that they are paying tribute to the franchising, to the story, and the narrative that Robert Kirkman created. He admitted that he does go online that often, but he knew there was a lot of buzz about "Fear The Walking Dead."

Erickson expects that the "Fear The Walking Dead" title is going to continue to evolve so viewers will start referring to it as "Fear."
