Surface Pro 3 Slashed By $150 As Oct. 19 Surface Pro 4 Release Date Draws Near

Microsoft Surface Pro 4 will run on the Windows 10 operating system.

Microsoft has discounted the Surface Pro 3 by $150 for several models as the Oct. 19 release date of Surface Pro 4 arrivfes near.

Since the past few months Microsoft has been offering $150 discounts on Surface Pro 3. The Intel Core i5 that comes with 8 GB of RAM is available with $150 for $1,149, Tech Times reported.

It adds that both the Intel Core i7 variants are also available with $150 discount. The Intel Core i5 model with 4 GB of RAM and the Intel Core i3 is discounted by $100.

The Surface Pro 4 will be powered by the Intel Skylake chipset and it will also be available in CPU versions such as the Intel Core i3, i5 and i7. The Surface Pro 3 successor will be available in two display sizes, one will be featuring a 12-inch screen and the other will be coming with larger screen of 13-inch or 14-inch, Digitimes reported.

Owners of the 12-inch Surface Pro 4 will be supporting the docking station and other accessories that are meant for the Surface Pro 3. Hence, the dimensions of the 12-inch model of the next generation Surface Pro tablet are expected to be same as that of Surface Pro 3.

Paul Thurrott had speculated that the Windows 10 powered Surface Pro 4 will be unleashed in October. Recently it was revealed that the Redmond giant is planning to arrange an unveil event for the much awaited 2015 flagship smartphones, the Lumia 940 and the Lumia 940 XL on Oct. 19.

Speculations also indicate that Surface Pro 4 release date is also set to happen on Oct. 19. Some midrange Lumia handsets and the Microsoft Band 2 is also slated to be revealed on the same date.
