"New Girl" star Zooey Deschanel and her sister "Bones" star Emily Deschanel arrive at the Fox Summer TCA All-Star Party in West Hollywood, California August 1, 2013.

Betty White, 93, will be one of the guest actors of the crime procedural comedy-drama "Bones" season 11, which is set to premiere on Oct. 1 on Fox.

In "Bones" season 11, White will play Dr. Beth Mayer, the latest squintern of the Jeffersonian, TVLine has learned. An accomplished squintern, Mayer is brought in to help solve a murder linked to fantasy football, which is one of her various areas of expertise.

Mayer is considered the most experienced forensic anthropologist in the world with a half century of work under her belt. In real life, White holds the Guinness World Record as the female entertainer with the longest television career.

With Mayer on board, Dr. Temperance "Bones" Brennan (Emily Deschanel) has to step up her game. She is also not going back at the Jeffersonian with Special Agent Seeley Booth (David Boreanaz).

"Bones" season 11 will pick up about six months after Brennan and Booth's exit. Showrunner Michael Peterson told Entertainment Weekly that Booth has left the old life behind and is currently teaching at Quantico, Calif.

On the other hand, Peterson said Brennan never has trouble filling up her time besides just giving birth to a child. The "Bones" season 11 showrunner said Deschanel's character has written books and has done multiple projects.

"She's more in between than Booth," Peterson said of Boreanaz and Deschanel's "Bones" characters. "She's diversified herself into many projects, so she hasn't quite landed on the one."

Boreanaz and Deschanel are also set to appear in "Sleepy Hollow" season 3 episode 5, which will be aired on Oct. 29, playing their "Bones" characters.
