Dr. Spencer Reid (Matthew Gray Gubler) will have a big moment in "Criminal Minds" season 11 premiere, according to executive producer Erica Messer.
"He gets to do a takedown Reid style, which is just using his brain with a physical thing that's really disturbing," Entertainment Weekly quoted Messer as saying. "You have to turn away. It's not a standoff with a gun. It's a Reid version of a takedown."
Before "Criminal Minds" season 11 premieres on CBS on Sept. 30, Gubler completed the comedy drama "Hot Air," which is directed by Derek Sieg. It also stars Jere Burns, Schuyler Fisk, Christa Miller, Gary Cole, Jackson Hurst, David Maldonado and Edward Hong, among others.
Aside from reprising his role Dr. Spencer Reid in "Criminal Minds" season 11, Gubler is also lending his voice to the character Simon in "Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Road Chip," which is set to hit theaters on Dec. 23.
"Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Road Chip" also features the voices of Jesse McCartney, Jason Lee, Justin Long, Bella Thorne, Anna Faris, Christina Applegate and "The Big Bang Theory" star Kaley Cuoco-Sweeting, among others.
Meanwhile, "Criminal Minds: Beyond Borders" recently filmed in Oxnard, Calif. Television crews were set up shop at Oxnard's beachfront Embassy Suites for the filming of the 2016 "Criminal Minds" spinoff on Aug. 24, Monday, and Aug. 25, Tuesday, Ventura County Star reported.
Among the "Criminal Minds: Beyond Borders" cast are Gary Sinise, Tyler James Williams, Daniel Henney, Annie Funke and Alana de la Garza, among others.
