Jared Leto will play The Joker in David Ayer’s upcoming DC Comics film “Suicide Squad.”

With the end of the production of David Ayer's upcoming DC Comics film "Suicide Squad," Jared Leto, who is playing The Joker, has parted ways with his green hair.

Leto has shared a photo on his official Instagram account. The image shows the actor's clipped emerald tresses and he put the caption "Goodbye," along with symbols that can be green in color like cactus, clover, snake, and apple. The photo got more than 100,000 likes and nearly 5,000 comments.

Ayer's take on the Crown Prince of Gotham is set to be different from the character's previous incarnations. According to Cinema Blend, the principal photography is just about to finish, but there might be a need to re-shoot some sequences, which may require Leto to have his hair colored with green dye again.

While Leto's look is motivated by the definitive Killing Joke variety of Batman's adversary, the actor's hair is not the only worth mentioning facet of the Clown Prince, as per IGN. The actor has also given some presents to his co-stars, which strengthened his embodiment of his character's personality.

Margot Robbie, who is playing Harley Quinn in the film, received a real rat while Will Smith, who is playing Deadshot got some bullets. Recently, he gave his co-star Jay Hernandez, who is playing El Diablo, a deck of cards with a Joker card on top of the box, a mysterious object wrapped in newspaper, plus a white envelope with the word "diablo" written in a child's scribble.

Aside from Leto, Robbie, Smith, and Hernandez, "Suicide Squad" also stars Jai Courtney, Cara Delevingne, Adam Beach, Karen Fukuhara, Joel Kinnaman, Adawale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, Viola Davis, Scott Eastwood, Ike Barenholtz, and Common, among others.

Ayer's "Suicide Squad" is slated to premiere in theaters on Aug. 5, 2016. Watch the official "Suicide Squad" trailer here:
