Chelsea Rumors Central: Mourinho Vows To Get John Stones In January, Barça's Ivan Rakitic Open To Future Stamford Bridge Move

Chelsea rumors (from L to R): John Stones and Ivan Rakitic.

The 2015 summer transfer window has closed and defending Premier League champions Chelsea seems to be looking for more as they try to improve their state in the current 2015-2016 English season. So far, the team is in the middle of the pack with only four points after four games, eight points behind undefeated league leader Manchester City.

Although Jose Mourinho managed to snag his share of big names this year, such as Nantes' Papy Djilobodji, Barça's Pedro, Augsburg's Baba Rahman, and Monaco's Radamel Falcao on loan, analysts suggest that the Blues still had one of the worst summers among the English giants.

As they wait for the transfer window to reopen in January, below are some of the latest Chelsea rumors.

Mourinho vows to get John Stones in January: The Blues' £2.7 million deadline day acquisition of Djilobodji is said to be an affordable plan B by Mourinho in case they missed Stones, and they certainly did miss him again this year even after offering Everton £38 million last week.

However, the 52-year-old manager is not giving up and had promised to go after the 21-year-old center back again when the window reopens in January next year. Verdict: Fact.

Blues also target Barça's Ivan Rakitic next year: Another interesting rumor circulating these days is Chelsea's speculated interest on Barça midfielder Ivan Rakitic.

The 27-year-old Croatia international would surely improve Mourinho's midfield if The Special One decides to partner him with Eden Hazard or Cesc Fàbregas in the 4-2-3-1 formation.

And with recent reports coming out that Rakitic is open to move to England after turning down a deal with Chelsea early in his career, it seems like he is headed to Stamford Bridge after all. It's officially still a rumor and Luis Enrique may not like this one. Verdict: Fiction.
