Asbæk starred in the top-rating Danish series Borgen as Kasper Juul, along with “GoT” guest star Birgitte Hjort Sørensen.

"Game of Thrones" Season 6 is set to unleash another frightening villain, to rival the wickedness of the conceited Joffrey Baratheon and the lunatic Ramsay Snow. Danish actor Pilou Asbæk will join the HBO show as Euron Greyjoy, the merciless pirate uncle of Theon Greyjoy.

Asbæk starred in the top-rating Danish series Borgen as Kasper Juul, along with "GoT" guest star Birgitte Hjort Sørensen. He appeared as Paolo Orsini on "The Borgias," and is portraying Pontius Pilate in the latest version of "Ben-Hur."

Asbæk was seen in Ballintoy Harbour, Northern Ireland filming a major scene which involved a huge crowd cheering for Euron, MTV reported. Kingsmoot is being filmed, Watchers on the Wall predicted. Kingsmoot is the traditional ceremony by the people of the Iron Islands, in which kings were chosen by longship captains.

Gemma Whelan, who plays Yara Greyjoy, was also spotted in the location.

Euron is most noted for being the chief pirate who cuts the tongues of all his crew. He sails around the world to rape women, accumulate wealth, and capture slaves.

The vile pirate is also known as Crow's Eye because he only reveals one of his eyes, his blue smiling eye. It is said that his other eye is black and full of fury.

Euron's personal coat-of-arms is a red eye with a black pupil beneath a black iron crown supported by two crows.

In the novel, "A Song of Ice and Fire," which inspired "GoT," Euron was exiled by his brother Lord Balon Greyjoy after Euron raped the salt wife of his other brother Victarion Greyjoy.

Upon the destined death of Balon, due to a usurper curse by Melisandre, Euron is expected to come back home to claim the Seastone Chair.
