Big Bang

Big Bang was hailed as the most popular K-pop group on V app among 30,000 artists. The boyband was able to accumulate more than 723,000 fans since the app was released on Aug. 1.

According to Korea Herald, G-Dragon, T.O.P., Seungri, Taeyang and Daesung appeared on V for a special broadcast to promote their highly successful EP "E" last month.

Meanwhile, in an interview on Naver TV, YG Entertainment representative Yang Hyun Suk admitted that there have been talks of Big Bang leaving the studio. He said that although they were looking forward to the K-pop group renewing their contract, he will be more than happy to support their decision, whatever it may be.

The YG Entertainment representative also answered criticism of the group "monopolizing the spotlight" by releasing new songs each month. He explained that they just wanted to highlight each and  every track on the album.

"Since our promotions and are world tour are growing on a larger scale we wanted to show fans around the world videos for each song," he said.

Yang also appealed to fans who were upset that Big Bang failed to promote "Sober" and "If You" locally. He said that the k-pop group has great potential to get their talent recognized in the global arena.

"We hope that fans can understand why we think it's better to reach beyond just the domestic market because Big Bang is a group that has the potential to do so," he said.

Yang added that because of Big Bang, other YG Entertainment artists such as Winner and iKon were able to widen their fan base.
