Samsung continues its tirade against Apple.

There are reports that the Tizen OS-based Samsung Gear S2 smartwatch may support both the iOS and Android OS platform.

According to Digital Spy, a Samsung spokesperson said that, "We are looking at possibilities to open it up to iOS."He added: "Because we opened it up to Android, we are looking at this."

Samsung recently revealed a lot about its upcoming Gear gadget watch. The upcoming smartwatch is expected to sport a sleek design and a metallic look. It is also rumored to feature a 1.2-inch round display. This display will sit on a rotating bezel, similar to what is found in a diver's watch. This area can be used to navigate and scroll around the interface of the watch, according to The Economic Times.

The watch is also expected to sport physical home and back buttons, for quick response to notifications. Its overall design will be curvaceous, like the recent Galaxy smartphone series. The earlier Gear was heavy, and sported a square display, which did not gain much popularity. This watch will be more inspired with the Apple smart watch.

The gear is also rumored to be equipped with an NFC built-in chip, which will be used for making mobile payments. It is also rumored that Samsung is planning to release a 3G version of the device, to make the voice calling hardware free and easy. Without this, the users need to pair up the gear to their Samsung smart phones.

It is further rumored that the Samsung Gear S2 will be released with a choice of band, similar to that of Moto 360. There will be a Gear S2 classic, which will sport a black finish and a leather strap along with the Samsung Tizen operating system.

Another model is expected to be available in silver, white, or a dark grey band. The watch will be equipped with a battery life which will work for three days straight, without charging.
