Renault recently released a complete set of press photos of the upcoming 2016 Megane. Prior to the official release, photos of the compact hatchback surfaced on several auto blog and websites.
According to Car Scoops, the recently released photos of the fourth-generation hatchback look mature compared to its previous iterations.
From the looks of it, the design of the 2016 Megane is heavily influenced by the Talisman sedan and Estate, both also from Renault. Reports also claim that the fourth-generation Megane will debut at the Frankfurt Motor Show scheduled to open its doors on Sept. 15.
Prior to the release of the photos, top Renault executives said that it newest car models will be released with more polished interior design and more sophisticated tech features in order to address some of the criticism directed to its cars.
One of the main features added on the 2016 Megane is the introduction of a tablet-like device situated on the cars dashboard. The device is believed to control some of the cars main functions; the same device is also integrated on the Talisman and the latest model of Escape.
According to Auto Express, the rear design of the 2016 Megane is inspired by the Clio and the new Kadjar. On the other hand, the distinctive LED tail-lights is praised by many critics as unique and different.
On the engine aspect, experts believe that the current petrol and dCI diesel engines will receive major upgrades. There is also a big possibility that Renault will introduce new engines. There are also rumors about the 300bhp Renaultsport turbocharged petrol engine aimed to rival the current Honda Civic Type R.
