New updates for "The Flash" season 2 have been revealed regarding details for the premier episode, Killer Frost first appearance and a cameo in the new spin-off, "Legends of Tomorrow".
"The Flash" main cast member Danielle Panabaker has revealed several new details about season 2 regarding the status of the whole S.T.A.R. Labs team after audiences and comic book fans were left in a cliffhanger at the end of season 1.
Panabaker told Collider that the events of "The Flash" season 2 will feature a six month jump as she explained that Caitlin Snow along with Cisco Ramon (Carlos Valdes), Iris West (Candice Patton) etc. will deal with the singularity and everything else after Barry Allen's (Grant Gustin) disappearance in season 1.
Panabaker was also excited that Caitlin's alter-ego, Killer Frost will be introduced in season 2, although she does not know which episode will she appear and stated that the showrunners will reveal the details soon.
Audiences first saw Caitlin Snow's version of Killer Frost in the show's season 1 finale, when Barry Allen traveled back in time to save his mother from being killed by the Reverse-Flash (Tom Cavanaugh and Matt Letscher).
Barry was able to tap into the Speed Force and witnessed several possible and alternate versions of the future including Caitlin's transformation to the Ice villain. It is unknown yet if this Killer Frost will be the same person in prime earth, or just another version of Caitlin in Earth 2 since "The Flash" season 2 will deal with alternate worlds.
The season 1 finale also saw Caitlin getting married to Ronnie Raymond (Robbie Amell), one-haft of the superhero tandem Firestorm along with Professor Martin Stein (Victor Garber).
Panabaker added that Prof. Stein will play a very important role in episode 4 this season before his jump to the spin-off series, "Legends of Tomorrow".
Firestorm in "Legends of Tomorrow" has been the source of many rumors and theories since Prof. Stein is the only character present in the show, while Ronnie was never mentioned in the cast. It was rumored that a new Firestorm duo will be introduced in the spin-off composed of Prof. Stein and Jay Jackson (Franz Drameh).
Panabaker also hinted that Caitlin Snow will likely have a cameo in "Legends of Tomorrow", but it is unsure whether or not she will appear as her normal self or her villainous alter-ego since Firestorm will be present in the show, Screenrant reported.
"The Flash" season 2 will premier on Oct. 7 on the CW Network.
