The 22nd edition of The Ultimate Fighter, which pits Europe's Team McGregor against the USA's Team Faber, is on the horizon.
As with seasons past, this installment of TUF doesn't lack controversies, clashes, and a lot of Conor McGregor.
However, it seems as though the "Notorious" Irishman wasn't really ecstatic about coaching his European lads, that is, according to his opposing coach, Urijah Faber.
While The Ultimate Fighter 22: Team McGregor vs. Team Faber comes close to wrapping up filming; Faber takes a shot at McGregor's unorthodox coaching method - or lack thereof.
"I would like to see him show up a little more for his guys," Faber said. "Guy showed up [to] half the practices."
UFC Bantamweight Champion and teammate, TJ Dillashaw, echoed Faber's sentiments.
"He (McGregor) was hardly there. He didn't even really show up," the TUF 14 finalist stated. "He was just there for the weigh-ins and fights it seemed like. He wasn't there for his team at all."
To his defense, Conor McGregor offered a different take on the situation.
"I'm simply going to provide the platform for them. I'm going to bring the eyes to the screen for them. I'm going to provide coaches that I have come up with," McGregor expressed. "But, really, it's a six-week run of fights on and off. The training is done. I'm not going to go in and teach them anything."
McGregor added, "I brought the other day, and I told them, 'forget Team Europe. Forget Team USA. It's fake, and it's fabricated."
"I told them to remember their team back home. Remember their families. Remember why they're here," the interim featherweight champ continued. "They are here for their people back home, their families and their financial security."
Of course whatever the brash Irishman does, or involves himself in, absolutely catches people's attention and creates intriguing headlines.
The season hasn't even started, and yet, the "Notorious" has already made huge waves - whether deliberately or not - in promoting the show to a wider audience.
