Liam Payne is named as Sexiest Man Of The Year by Attitude Magazine.

One Direction member Liam Payne fired back at his critics who have slammed him over his perceived candid interview with Attitude Magazine after the publication named him Sexiest Man Of The Year.

"It's funny I thought people appreciated honesty these days," tweeted the 22-year-old singer to fire at the online commentators who criticized him for denying any gay romance between his band members, Harry Styles and Louis Tomlinson.

Earlier, Payne told Attitude Magazine how when the gay-marriage laws changed in U.S, their concerts were marked by rainbow flags as fans were apparently congratulating Styles and Tomlinson. He further told the publication that since he knows that there is no secret romance between the two band members, he found it quite annoying.

The statement given by the British singer spurred the online commentators who accused him of being homophobic and bringing up "Larry" unnecessarily in his interview.

Apart from slamming the gay romance rumors, Payne has also touched about another report which stated that Briana Jungwirth's pregnancy is a cover-up news. The singer squashed the rumors by saying that Tomlinson is very happy to become a dad.

Addressing the rumors that One Direction has split, Payne emphasized that the band members are just taking a break and they will definitely work together in future. Talking about his future plans, the singer claimed that he will love to write songs and "make great music that people want to listen to," Billboard reported citing Attitude Magazine.

Payne also talked about settling down with his longtime girlfriend Sophia Smith with whom he was spotted on a low-key date at a cinema in Ontario, Canada, earlier during the weekend, Daily Mail reported.
