You may want to hold your horses in purchasing the new iPad Pro as the iPad Air 3 release is still coming next month, according to reports.

iPad Air 3 is reportedly delayed to give way to the new iPad Pro, but it seemed that Apple is just testing the waters if there is a market for an enormous tablet like iPad Pro. The tech giant will release the 9.7-inch tablet later in October, which is the original release date of iPads.

Rumors of Apple dropping iPad Air 3 started when Taiwanese media source Economic Daily News citing Fubon Bank analyst Liaoxian Yi, Apple decided to delay the iPad Air 3 release in 2016 to give way to the rumored iPad Pro, which is the Apple's entry in the laplet market.

Delaying the iPad Air 3 release seemed to be a sound decision as it may cannibalize the iPad Pro sales since the two tablets are closer in size. Moreover, there could be problems in terms of supply if suppliers are working on three tablets.

iPad Air 3 rumored features include: 9.7 inch Retina display with 4K resolution, 401 ppi, and 4:3 aspect ratio, A9X processor, iOS 9, 16GB, 64GB, and 128GB variants, and 8 MP iSight camera at the back and 2.1 MP front-facing camera. These features are similar to that of iPad Pro with a slightly smaller screen panel.

Currently, Apple boasts iPad Pro as its most powerful iPad yet. It is paired with iPad Mini 4 as an alternative for buyers who want a tablet with smaller screen.

However, there is no official announcement from Apple about iPad Air 3 yet.
