Keanu Reeves' "Matrix" co-star Essie Davis is the latest actor confirmed to be added in the "Game of Thrones" season 6 cast. The Australian star is rumoured to be playing Cersei Lannister, which was originally played by Lena Headey and Nell Williams.

Recently, Davis was seen in full costume as a Queen of Westeros. She is said to play a traveling theater troupe member in Braavos staging a play titled "The Bloody Hand," The Hollywood Reporter has learned.

It is in this play-within-a-show in "Game of Thrones" season 6 where the Australian actress takes on the role of Cersei Lannister. It is also intended to show some events seen over the course of the last five seasons of the HBO hit series.

On the other hand, in "Game of Thrones" season 6 play-within-a-show The Bloody Hand," however, some liberties are set to be taken for the sake of art even in the dramatized world of King's Landing, according to Metro.

According to recent "Game of Thrones" season 6 spoilers, some well-known characters from the BBO series will also appear in "The Bloody Hand," which means there will be resurrections through flashbacks.

In 2011, Davis starred in the Australian version of "The Slap," which is the original one, and in 2014, Davis played a mother in "The Babadook." She appeared with Reeves in the "The Matrix Reloaded" and "The Matrix Revolutions" in 2003.

Aside from Davis, Ian McShane, Max von Sydow, Pilou Asbaek, Freddie Stroma and Richard E. Grant are also joining the "Game of Thrones" season 6 cast. Recently spotted in full King Robert regalia on set, Grant will play the flamboyant leader of a troupe of actors known for portraying drunken aristocrats.
