The NBA 2k16 Player ratings are the subject of debate among hoops and gaming fans.

A new debate has raged while the ratings are not complete yet. A small portion of the ratings have been released through and they have LeBron James at the highest rating so far with 94.

The King's rating was revealed, perhaps inadvertently through a screenshot posted on Twitter. The shot has the Boston Celtics roster and stated the team's desire to acquire LeBron James-and his rating stated "94."

The rating does not seem so high, so it opened up a debate that maybe, LeBron James is no longer the highest rated player in NBA 2k16.

An argument presented by NESN stated that Stephen Curry, the NBA 2015 Most Valuable Player has probably surpassed the overall rating of King James.

"But here's the kicker - the final roster updates in '2K15' had Golden State Warriors point guard Stephen Curry jumping from an 89 overall rating to begin last season to 95 overall," the article stated. "Fellow cover athletes James Harden and Anthony Davis as well as 'NBA Live 16' cover athlete Russell Westbrook all improved to 94s. If all that stays true, it looks like Curry will be dethroning the King for the second time this summer."

There seems to be some flaws with the argument. One of them is the collective drop of ratings at the top because of the new "philosophy" of player rating computation that the producers adopted. The details of the new method are stated here.

Thus, it is anticipated that there would also be a corresponding drop for Curry. So far, the highest rated point guard is John Wall with a confirmed rating of 87. Would Curry be 8 points higher than Wall?
