The new trailer for Francis Lawrence's "The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 2" is reflective in nature, as Katniss Everdeen reveals her reason to until the end, her sister Primrose Everdeen.
Running for two minutes and 25 seconds with the song "My Tears are Becoming A Sea" by M83, the clip started off with Katniss standing in her battle suit. Then, the subsequent sequences bring back fans to the past, as they feature moving scenes of Katniss and her sister Prim from Gary Ross' "The Hunger Games" and Lawrence's "The Hunger Games: Catching Fire" and "The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1."
The trailer served as a touching tribute for Prim, as per Entertainment Online. It showed an indivisible love between Katniss and Prim, as evidenced by Katniss giving her sister the Mockingjay pin as protection and her sacrifice as a tribute in place of Prim. For Katniss, she desires to win in the Hunger Games for her sister. As for Prim, she tells her sister that she could see hope after the last Hunger Games.
The next sequences reveal the statement "Her sacrifice is the ultimate tribute," along with remarkable moments between Katniss and Prim. For the Mockingjay, she just wanted to save her sister and keep Peeta alive, as she tells President Snow in the clip. However, the authoritarian leader told Katniss that it was the things people love most that destroy them.
The trailer ended with Katniss and Prim dancing and expressing their love for each other, which was included in earlier "The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 2" trailers. Overall, the trailer got more than 800,000 views and more than 18,000 likes in YouTube.
Unlike its previous action-packed trailers, the new trailer for Lawrence's "The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 2" is more dramatic in tone. While the film is assumed to showcase an epic battle between the President Snow and all districts, it is also speculated that the film could end up in a tragic manner, as per The Wrap.
Jennifer Lawrence is set to play the Katniss the Mockingjay while Willow Shields will play Prim. Along with them, "The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 2" stars Josh Hutcherson, Liam Hemsworth, Sam Clafflin, Evan Ross, Natalie Dorner, Jena Malone, Elizabeth Banks, Gwendoline Christie, Julianne Moore, Mahershala Ali, and Donald Sutherland, among others.
