The Last of Us is an action-adventure survival horror video game developed by Naughty Dog and published by Sony Computer Entertainment.

"The Last of Us" game was received well during its time, and now fans of the Naughty Dog's renowned post-apocalyptic game have shown much interest in the game's title. It is likely that the studio is planning to have "The Last of Us 2" soon.

Three key personalities including Animator Eric Baldwin, Naughty Dog's community strategist Eric Monacelli, and writer Josh Scherr attended this week's live stream for the company's hit show, "Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection."

In the process, the discussion suddenly changed to focus on the survival horror game. According to the statement by Scherr, it seems the second installment is in the company's program schedule.

According to IGN, Scherr said, "All the facial animation in the 'Uncharted' series was led up by Eric, here, and [on] the first The Last of Us. Uh, did I say the first The Last of Us?"

As indicated in the clip, Scherr's pace of speech appears to have changed after he unintentionally touched on the subject. Possibly it was his intention to divert the attention of the listeners from the details he accidentally unveiled.

A number of websites, including the aforementioned, cited the disconcerted feeling Scherr depicted.

On the other hand, the talk was also picked up by Gamerant, which said that this could be an "intentional" move from Naughty Dog "in order to generate preliminary buzz."

Meanwhile, speculations about a possible release of "Last of Us 2" have filled the mill for some time now. Initially, voice actor Nolan North told fans at a conference that the sequel is for sure in development. However, the studio took over the matter to clarify that the plans for the anticipated game are unofficial.
