After almost two years of waiting, the iPad Pro has finally been launched in an Apple event earlier this month.

Following previous rumors about the device, the gigantic Apple slate is indeed the cream of the crop in last week's event at the Bill Graham Civic Auditorium in California.

In the report by WDRB, the new iPad Pro boasts a 12.9-inch display, making it the biggest iOS-powered device in the market right now.

For consumers who are interested about the upcoming Apple tablet, here are some points raised in a first-impressions post by MacWorld UK.

Similar Design, More Powerful Specs

The iPad Pro follows the tradition of the iPads in its design, particularly that of the most recent iPad Airs. The device uses the same material as the previous iPads, although it does have four speakers instead of two. Another addition is the Smart Connector port, which reportedly connects the device to the Smart Keyboard accessory that was also unveiled last week.

Because the iPad Pro has 75 more screen estate than the next biggest iPad, it is a given that Apple included more pixels per inch. In the report, the 12.9-inch slate has a 2732 x 2048 resolution, easily the highest in any Apple device running on iOS.

In addition, the Apple tablet also boasts an A9X processor, which reportedly is almost twice the power of the previous A8 chipset. This new processor allows the iPad Pro to run the Split Screen feature seamlessly.

Other specs include an 8MP primary iSight camera, a 1.2MP front shooter, 4GB of RAM and an option of either 32GB or 128GB of built-in storage. Meanwhile, the cellular option is only available in the 128GB version, the report mentioned.

Release Date, Availability, Pricing

In the report, the device will become available in the United States and other markets, beginning with a $799 price tag for the 32GB version. Meanwhile, the 128GB edition will cost around $949, while the 128GB cellular model is currently priced at $1,079.

Some rumors claim that the device will officially become available for orders later this month, with a release date to more countries and markets by November.
