Before Gal Gadot was cast as "Wonder Woman," the actress turned down the role of a Kryptonian in the 2013 movie "Man of Steel."

Gadot has turned down the offer and the role due to the fact that she was pregnant at that time the role was offered. It was an offer that she had to refuse - the role of the Kryptonian Faora-Ul - which Antje Traue got the role in replacement of Gadot. Later on, Gadot was cast as Wonder Woman in "Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice."

The turning down of the role was not due to the movie, but because the Israeli actress wants to prioritize her family at the time. Gadot considers the reality of Karma and said that "what has to happen, happens." The actress said that she is focused on her work, but she is also trying to be the "best" mum she can be for her daughter Alma, IBTimes reported.

Gadot also expressed that if she wasn't pregnant at the time, she might have considered the job, IGN reported.

As Gadot faces the new role of becoming the next "Wonder Woman" in the big screen, the actress is preparing well as the filming of "Wonder Woman" is expected to begin soon with director Patty Jenkins overseeing the project.

It was also rumored that a sequel to "Man of Steel" is brewing. In a video displayed on the YouTube account of Screen Junkies, screenwriter Max Landis inclined his idea about what the plot of the next movie would be like.

Gadot might have turned down the Kryptonina role, but it appears that more opportunities awaits Gal Gadot as she returns to the big screen as "Wonder Woman." Although the fans and followers alike might have to wait, the film is expected to be released in 2017.
