There are no details yet on whether returning character Mulan (Jamie Chung) will reunite or not with Aurora (Sarah Bolger) in ABC's "Once Upon a Time" Season 5. However, OUAT executive producers Adam Horowitz and Edward Kitsis recently assured that the new season is going to explore on an LGBT relationship so it is speculated the upcoming storyline will be on the Mulan-Aurora pairing.
When asked about the possibility of digging deeper into Mulan's romantic feelings for Aurora, "Once Upon a Time" series creator and executive producer Edward Kitsis told Entertainment Weekly that the show would to tell a love story that reflects the Mulan-Aurora relationship in "Once Upon a Time" Season 5.
Kitsis revealed that the team behind "Once Upon a Time" is aware about the LGBT (Lesbian Gay Bisexual and Transgender) community being big supporters of the ABC fairy tale drama series. Co-creator and executive producer Adam Horowitz added that they want "Once Upon a Time" to mirror the world as it is at the moment.
However, Kitsis and Horowitz did not divulge which OUAT characters will be featured in the show's LGBT relationship. According to E!News, Jamie Chung will return as Mulan in a multi-episode arc in "Once Upon a Time" Season 5.
Mulan was last seen in "Once Upon a Time" Season 3 running off with Robin Hood (Sean Maguire) and his Merry Men after finding out about Aurora's pregnancy. Even though the details on Mulan's return are being kept under wraps, Chung admitted to E!News that the Mulan-Aurora reunion is something she has been looking forward to since her last appearance in "Once Upon a Time."
Chung shared that she would return to the show in a heartbeat because she thinks it is really disappointing to leave the OUAT fans with a huge question mark on Mulan. Chung also added that she hopes Mulan will be able to enjoy a full-blown romantic story when the OUAT fans get to see her character once again on the show.
"Once Upon a Time" Season 5 will premiere on Sunday night, Sept. 27, at 8/7c on the ABC.
