'Supergirl' Season 1 New Trailer Features Kara Zor-El's Powers, Maxwell Lord, More Villains! [VIDEO]; Hank Henshaw Transforms Into Cyborg Superman Soon?

"Supergirl" is a CBS series developed by writer-producers Greg Berlanti, Ali Adler, Sarah Shechter, and Andrew Kreisberg.

"Supergirl" season 1 will witness Kara Zor-El's many abilities, Maxwell Lord's debut and the possibility of Hank Henshaw transforming into his evil alter-ego, Cyborg Superman.

A new trailer for "Supergirl" TV series has been streamed and it features Kara Zor-El/Supergirl (Melissa Benoist) using many of her Kryptonian powers as a heroine in National City. Kara has demonstrated several powers similar to her cousin Superman in the trailer such as super strength, speed, flight, super breath which allows her to freeze enemies and heat vision.

There are a number of characters being introduced in the show such as Maxwell Lord (Peter Facenili) who in the show is a business rival of Kara's boss, Cat Grant (Calista Flockhart) and shows a keen interest in Supergirl. Maxwell Lord in the DC comics has founded the Justice League International, but his life took a dark turn when he gain mind control powers and became a full-fledge villain during the "Infinite Crisis" arc. Maxwell Lord is also seen with Cat's son, Carter Grant (Levi Miller) showing him around a room in his facility.

Two villains are also introduced in the show like Ben Krull/ Reactron (Chris Browning) and Roderick Rose. Hellgrammite (Justice Leak), Cinemablend reported. Reactron in the "Supergirl" TV series will be a major threat as he seeks Kara in order to gain revenge against Superman, while Hellgrammite is an entomologist who has been transformed into insect like creature capable of superhuman feets and transform his victims to a version of himself.

In other news, "Homeland" star David Harewood teased the possibility of Hank Henshaw turning into the his villanous alter-ego, Cyborg Superman in the show. Harewood told ComicBook that he has been reading several Superman comic book issues relating to Hank Henshaw and hinted that his character will likely go through the same process in the show similar to the comics.

Hank Henshaw (Harewood) will be the head of Department of Extra-Normal Operations as their goal is to monitor and protect the planet Earth from extraterrestrial beings and possible invasion. One of its members include Kara's adoptive sister Alex Danvers (Chyler Leigh) as a field agent and scientist.

Harewood added that he looks forward to Hank's transformation as Cyborg Superman and hopes that his alter-ego will be entertaining and frightening for the audiences.

"Supergirl" TV series will premiere on Oct. 27 on CBS.
