"Yo-Kai Watch" is a series of role-playing video games originally released for the Nintendo 3DS in Japan on July 11, 2013 and in North America by Nintendo on November 6, 2015.

New Japanese anime "Yo-Kai Watch" has officially released the series' trailer and website before the game is launched internationally.

Based on a series of role-playing video games of the same name, the said anime is about the story of Nathan Adams who teamed up with the Yo-Kai Whisper in a quest to search and capture ghosts and goblins lurking around the world.

For a "Pokémon" fan's perspective, "Yo-Kai Watch" seemed to follow an identical "Pokémon" anime plot. According to Polygon, Adams also had the power to summon his captured ghosts at will but with a trusty watch instead of the trademark Poké ball.

In preparation for its anime launch, "Yo-Kai Watch" recently released the anime trailer in their official Youtube channel and an official website. Currently, the new anime's Youtube channel only featured two more trailers for Season 1 and the United States version of the game.

On the other hand, the official website has additional information about the main protagonist and his team of ghosts and goblins. The said website also featured loads of anime collectibles such as comics, toys, music and applications.

While the series is being greatly promoted in different platforms, some fans of the original video game series were disappointed with the trailer. According to iDigitalTimes, critics noticed that the "Yo-Kai Watch" trailer has bad-quality dubbing which also suggested a poorly-written script.

Despite the negative feedback, fans remained hopeful that the anime series would be a hit like its Japanese counterpart. In addition, anime supporters pointed out that Disney XD is a children's channel which could lead to the possible modifications of the script to create appropriate languages and scenes for children.

"Yo-Kai Watch" would be aired on Disney XD on Oct. 5. Meanwhile, the official US release of the video game would be on Nov. 6.
