The first Cross-Strait Smart Travel Summit on the subject of "Development of Tourism Industry in E-commerce Era" will be launched in Taipei on Dec.12.
Approximately 200 guests from the two sides will be invited to the Summit to dive deep into the current situation and future development of cross-strait information exchanges and cooperation in the Tourism Industry, exploring new ways for cooperation to ensure common prosperity between Chinese mainland and Taiwan.
Cross-Strait Tourism Industry is now undertaking the Informationization Construction. Chinese mainland not only announced "The Outline of the "Twelfth Five-Year Plan" for Tourism Industry," but also published "Announcement on Printing and Distributing 2014 Chinese Tourism Yearly Theme and Slogan." The Announcement published by the office of the National Tourism Administration sets the 2014 Chinese Tourism Yearly Theme as "Beautiful China,2014 -- Year of Smart Travel," aiming to improve the development and integration of tourism resources and products in the aspects of smart services, smart management and smart marketing, thus promoting the transformation of Tourism Industry to modern Service Industry motivated by informationization.
Taiwan has already provided free i-Taiwan Wifi services to tourists this May, which enables tourist to fully enjoy free tourism after getting sufficient information about basic necessities of life in the scenic area and the surrounding. The concept of "Smart Tourism" has been turned into reality.
The Summit will provide a high-level, authoritative, professional and efficient platform for the exchanges and cooperation in Tourism Industries in both sides. The hosts express the hope that the launch of the Summit will promote the rapid development of cross-strait smart tourism, speed up the process of integration of digital technologies and business entities, and take advantage of E-commerce to help traditional Tourism Industry find new ways of operation, develop new industrial form and realize the common prosperity between the two sides.
Leaders in travel companies, Internet business representatives and scholars will have deep discussions over hot topics such as informationization of tourism resources management, E-Commerce for tourism, development of mobile client services and tourism marketing. Representatives from Chinese mainland will also be invited to visit relevant enterprises in Taiwan.
The Summit is co-hosted by taiwan.cn, Internet Society of China, Taiwan Information Management Association and Taiwan Internet and E-Commerce Association.
