BBC sci-fi drama series "Doctor Who" season 9 stars Jenna Coleman, Peter Capaldi and Michelle Gomez as Clara Oswald, the Doctor and Missy, respectively.

Peter Capaldi's character The Doctor is going to be safe according to the "Doctor Who" season 9 spoilers recently shared by Steven Moffat, the showrunner of the British TV series.

At the Radio Times Festival panel for "Doctor Who," Moffat was asked by host Frank Skinner if he was not prepared to confirm that Capaldi's character The Doctor is leaving.

"What are you asking me to say?" Moffat replied as he laughed. "Everyone's going to be really safe on the show. The Doctor won't be encountering any severe danger? Watch the show, find out."

Skinner asked Moffat if Capaldi is officially The Doctor in "Doctor Who" season 10. The "Doctor Who" showrunner said it depends on how season 9 ends and anything could happen."

Prior to this, Capaldi gave a speech about playing the Time Lord and mentioned that he would be working on the weekend for the final day of filming on the Christmas special of "Doctor Who" season 9.

Referring to the "Doctor Who" season 9 Christmas special filming, Skinner  said, "There is one day to go I suppose. He could be really rubbish tomorrow."

"I'm always waiting for the William Hartnell conversation," Capaldi said referring to the English actor who played the first incarnation of the "Doctor Who" character, the Doctor. He added that he gets very nervous every time they invite him out for dinner.

Meanwhile, Capaldi's "Doctor Who" season 9 co-star Jenna Coleman recently told Entertainment Weekly that a "Doctor Who" spinoff with her character Clara and Missy (Michelle Gomez) would be good and is absolutely brilliant.
