Huawei Nexus 6P is said to be more high-end than the other Nexus devices.

The Google Nexus 2015 handset to watch for is the giant Huawei Nexus 6P that a new report said is likely set for an October 5 release date. Once out of the box, the 5.7-inch phablet will sell $100 cheaper than the new Apple iPhone 6S Plus.

As starting price of the iOS 9 phablet is $750 for the 16GB model, the 32GB Nexus 6P is hinted to begin selling at $650 or the same sticker price of the 4.7-inch iPhone 6S with 16GB of internal memory. The details provided by the Reddit source of Droid Life appear to be solid but the blog report indicated that Google has yet to confirm anything.

Regardless, the so-called leaked Nexus 6P Google Play Store presentation seems to focus on four main features:

Android 6.0 Marshmallow

Considered as the real reason for the existence of Nexus flagship phones, the new Android version, dubbed as Marshmallow, is set to flex its muscle via the Nexus 2015 smartphones that also include the smaller LG Nexus 5X at 5.2-inch.

Marshmallow is set to unleash load of fresh Android 6 features and among them is the power management tool Doze, the online and wireless Android Pay service and native support for fingerprint scanner. The latter is uniquely implemented in the Nexus 6P, located on the rear of the device that according to Google is for better grip while accessing the feature.

Premium build

The Nexus 6P, as the leaked presentation shows, is a huge departure from the previous models by sporting an all-metal body that only accentuates its "sophisticated look and feel." The large 5.7-inch screen is a Quad HD Super AMOLED display and under the hood is all about speed and power thanks to the combo of Snapdragon 810 chip and 3GB of RAM.

Insane camera features

The Nexus 6P presentation also highlights the handset's shooting prowess. "The Nexus Camera is the best all-around camera we've ever put into a Nexus. But where it really shines is in conditions with less-than-ideal lighting. The new sensor captures more light, and the larger 1.55μm pixels absorb more in even the dimmest conditions to make your photos sharp,"

Complementing the camera hardware that boasts of 12.3MP on rear and 8MP on front is the upgraded and faster Google Camera app and the smart image library Google Photos.

Power juice always on tap

Deployed with the Nexus 6P is a 3450mAh battery that Google said will last longer than the competition, likely through the night. Playing a part on this is the new Doze app that is designed to force-sleep idle applications to significantly reduce battery usage, among its other features.

And the use of a USB Type-C port on the device also ensures that recharging is quicker than ever.

Both the Huawei Nexus 6P and LG Nexus 5X are expected to be unboxed September 29 but Google will only start selling on October 5.
