Renowned "Naruto" creator Masashi Kishimoto has revealed that he is working on a new character that is set to surpass the success of his original creation.

The movie "Boruto: Naruto the Movie" will be released on October 10 in the US, according to International Business TimesThe film was shown in Japan last August 7 and made box office record with around $5.46 million or 680 million yen in the first three days of its screening.

Kishimoto said in an interview with Anime News Network that he is currently working on a science fiction series that involves a new character that has not been seen in any manga comic book.

He confidently said that the protagonist is "done very well" and revealed that he has already finalized the designs for the new hero.

Kishimoto added that the success of "Naruto" was unexpected. This fueled him to create a character that would surpass Naruto Uzumaki.

He shared that the new series will not be a weekly thing like his 15-year run with "Naruto" as it had been too draining for him.

The artist admitted that he just had his honeymoon after being married for a decade. His life was so consumed in finishing "Naruto" that now all he wants is to take his time with his family and develop the new character at his own pace.

The 40-year-old artist wrote the one-volume sequel "Naruto: The Seventh Hokage and the Scarlet Spring" right after he concluded "Naruto."

Kishimoto will be at the Javis Center for the New York Comic Con on October 8-11, 2015.
