HTC list of smartphones will receive Android 6.0 (Marshmallow) and Sense 7 update.

Few more days before the unveiling of Android 6.0, HTC devices are reportedly slated to receive the Android 6.0 (Marshmallow) and Sense 7 update.

The report came from MaximusHD ROM Developer/XDA developer and prolific Twitter leaker LlabTooFeR (@LlabTooFer), with a complete list of handsets that are to receive Android 6.0 (Marshmallow) with HTC’s latest Sense 7 user interface.

Previous reports revealed which devices from different mobile carriers are Android Pay-ready. Among the flagship models included, according to Android Community, are: HTC One M9, One (M8), One (M7), and Nexus 9 from Verizon, T-Mobile, and AT&T.

LlabTooFeR shared over Twitter the complete list of handsets that will receive Android Marshmallow and updated Sense 7:

  • HTC One M8
  • HTC One M8s
  • HTC M8 EYE
  • HTC One E8
  • HTC Desire EYE
  • HTC Desire 816
  • HTC Desire 820
  • HTC Desire 826
  • HTC One M9
  • HTC One M9+
  • HTC One ME
  • HTC One E9
  • HTC One E9+
  • HTC Butterfly 2
  • HTC Butterfly 3

However, the prolific Twitter leaker said that this is only the initial list, and the Taiwanese tech company may change the list upon the Marshmallow development process. There is a possibility that HTC Desire 816 will not make it in the list since its internal storage is not that huge. HTC might officially announce the list of devices later this fall after Marshmallow makes its public debut.

Android 6.0 (Marshmallow) focuses largely on bug fixes. It concentrates on six areas: App Permissions, Web Experience, App Links, Mobile Payments, Fingerprint Support and Power & Charging.

The HTC Sense 7 update intends to correct software features that did not work properly with Sense 6. The minor changes include refining the home screen icons to allow more notification icons to be placed and quick opening of the Settings by swiping down the screen two times, Android Headlines reported. The flashlight feature has been added and it is easily accessible if there is a need for it.
